Most of Sufra's "why can't I…" moments are the app working as designed — it has strong opinions about keeping the table fair. Here are the common ones. Anything else: help@sufra.info.
I can't see tonight's plates. Is something broken?
Almost certainly not — that's the gate. Until your own dinner is posted, tonight's plates from everyone else stay hidden. Post your dinner and they unlock. Your own meals are always visible to you, and older days are never gated.
Why can't I post a second dinner?
One dinner per person per day is the ritual — the app enforces it. Once your dinner is in, the compose button becomes "Add to your day": breakfast, lunch, snack, and "other" posts are unlimited.
Can I change my table's invite code?
No — a table's code is fixed for the life of the table. That's why the app tells you to share it privately. If a code has escaped further than you'd like, the practical fix is to create a fresh table and invite everyone there.
What's the difference between leaving and being removed?
The same thing, initiated by different people: the seat disappears and that person stops seeing the table. Posted meals stay with the table either way. Removal isn't a ban — the invite code still works if the person is re-invited.
I'm not getting notifications.
Check that notifications are enabled for Sufra in your phone's system settings, and that the Daily Nudge is switched on inside the app (Settings) — enabling notifications is also what registers your device for the "someone posted" push. That push only fires for dinner posts; breakfast, lunch, snack, and "other" posts are quiet by design.
Who can see my photos?
Only signed-in members of the table you posted to — enforced server-side, not just hidden in the app. No public feeds, no discovery. Details in the privacy policy.
Is Sufra really free? What's the catch?
Free, no ads, no analytics, no premium tier — there is nothing to buy. It's a personal project built for the builder's own family; it runs on infrastructure that costs almost nothing at family scale. The catch is that it's a side project: see the terms.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account, in the app. It asks you to confirm and re-enter your password, then permanently erases everything you posted, everywhere — photos included. If you've lost access to the app, email us from your account's address and we'll do it for you.
