A private family app
The family table, wherever everyone lives.
Every evening, each person at your table posts one photo: what's on your plate tonight? Sufra's home screen is the table itself, seen from above — one seat per person, and a seat glows warm amber when someone's plate is waiting for you.
How a night works
- A nudge, around mealtime. One local notification at the time you choose: "Time to pull up your chair."
- Post your dinner in seconds. A photo is all that's required. Dish name and recipe are optional.
- Your dinner unlocks tonight's table. Until you've posted your own dinner, everyone else's plates from tonight stay hidden. Post yours, and the amber seats are yours to open. That's the deal that keeps everyone cooking.
- Open plates, leave reactions. Tap a glowing seat to reveal the plate, swipe through that person's day, react with an emoji. Opening is private — there are no read receipts.
- When every seat has posted, the table turns gold. One shared push tells the whole family: everyone ate together tonight.
The crown ✦
Each day, the dinner with the most reactions becomes that day's finalist. On Sunday, the ballot opens: everyone gets one vote for the week's best dish — and you can't vote for your own. At 9pm the winning plate takes the crown, and one recap push names the dish of the week.
No leaderboards, no individual streaks, no scores. Just one small ceremony a week.
The vault
Every plate archives forever in the Memory Vault — your family's table, scrollable back through time. Crowned dishes sit pinned in gold on the Winners' Shelf, and keep their ✦ where they happened in the timeline.
Sufra also remembers gently: exactly one month, three months, or a year after a meal, it resurfaces on your Live Table as a quiet memory card — no push, it's just there when you open the app. Only crowned dishes earn an anniversary notification, at six months and a year.
Private by design
- Invite-only. A table is joined by its code and nothing else. No public feeds, no discovery, no strangers.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Sufra is a personal family project, not a business. Everything is free, and there is nothing to upsell.
- Photos are cleaned before upload. Meal photos are re-encoded on your phone, which strips location (GPS) and camera metadata in the normal case.
- Leaving is real. Delete your account in Settings and everything you posted — photos included — goes with it.
